MØ (@MOMOMOYouth) is arguably one of my favorite artist out right now.  If you haven’t had the chance to listen, stop what you are doing and buy her album, No Mythologies to Follow. Right here:

Just do it. MØ (pronounced Mouh) is a Danish singer/songwriter who came in hot last year with tracks like “Glass” and “Pilgrim”. Since then she’s released her EP, Bikini Daze and her album. She’s just wrapped up her first US tour and will be back in the fall. Girl brings the noise. I got the opportunity to cheek out a show and she killed it. Coming into the crowd, dancing with everyone, all over the stage. Seems like a total homie. Hope you guys like her ish as much as I do.

No Sleep? Threesome?

It’s 2 in the morning and you’re still up.  Check out Often by the Weeknd. This new release is a bootycall anthem. Might as well take advantage and throw the free download on that playlist you have for some late night action. You know that playlist.

Daughter- Youth (Glastrophobie Remix)

You will not be able to stop listening to this remix by German music producer Glastrophobie to the classic jam Youth by Daughter.

This 8-minute deep house track absolutely bumps. Download here.

ODESZA is $$$

Odesza is one of the biggest up and comers in EDM. Fresh off their first EP last year, these guys just wrapped up their first tour and keep putting out sick mixes. They recently announced that they’ll be touring the second half of the year, mainly on the west coast. Check em out if you get the chance. Visit their site for details.

By the way, the girls in the video aren’t bad either

Keep it Clappin’

Keeping with the summer theme, check out “I Got You” by Duke Dumont. Great song to pregame or play out by the pool. Just good vibes all around.  This song should be on repeat all summer along with Rather Be by the Clean Bandits

Summer Pool Party Mix – Klingande Mixtape Vol. 4

Thomas Jack presents French duo Klingande who put this sick 53 min. mix together. Perfect mix for your summer pool party. The Calvin Harris – Summer (Cover) by Filous right into the Noah – It Breaks Your Heart (Marv Edit) had me hooked in the first 5 minutes… Check it out and see for yourself. Download below.

Firefly Music Festival

Firefly Music Festival is going down this weekend with a lot of dope bands playing.

If you’re going, check out the schedule to pick out your lineup: to

If you’re feeling lazy, here’s our recommendations to go to:

Thursday and Friday: Too late, missed that shit

Saturday: We’d stick to the Main Stage and the Backyard. You’ve got the headliners, Imagine Dragons and Outkast on the Main Stage. Meanwhile you’ve got some real solid bands on the Backyard. Smallpools will get the party started before the Indie Pop band, MSMR. Definitely worth checking out

Our Schedule: Smallpools-> MS MR-> Cage the Elephant (real quick) -> Imagine Dragons-> Outkast-> Pretty Lights as the nightcap

Sunday: There’s a bunch of bands we’re stoked for Sunday although they’re a little more spread out.

Gotta start the day off with Vance Joy. After that we’d recommend checking out the Misterwives, a personal favorite. Sick band, Lead singer Mandy Lee jams out and is great live. Check out the video.

After that you have some options. Weezer, Ziggy Marley, Phantogram, Martin Gerrux, Cherub, and headlining the Lumineers. They’re all playing around the same time so it’s going to be what you’re into. The night cap is between Childish Gambino, Big Gigantic, and Jack Johnson. Again, personal preference cuz you can’t go wrong.

Our choice: Vance->Misterwives->A Great Big World-> Lumineers-> Childish Gambino->Big Gigantic (if you can make it)

A lot of good music this weekend. You can’t go wrong. Enjoy it

The Re-UP

ThugsOnTheMoon is back in orbit. After a slight hiatus to figure that whole real world shit out, we’re back to share the music we love. Whether its new, up-and-coming artists or mainstream staples, our goal is to give our viewers stuff that they can jam to.

This isn’t some hipster operation guarding the music we come across, we’ll be posting anything and everything. We’ll be posting links to new music, videos, articles, and interviews. Chill music, party music, beach music, rap to rock, whatever, we don’t discriminate. If it’s hot, it’s hot and should be heard.

We are definitely not the music authority and can’t listen to it all so feel free to pass along the music you love as well, just email thugsonthemoon@gmail.

But enough about the site, let’s get back to space. the music.

Yours truly,

Captain Planet and Kitty
